This arc of sand called Vagator located about 22 kms from Panaji and is a part of the 30 km stretch of beach coastline along the west coast of Goa.This most photographed beach of Goa forms a bay that curves in the headland into the hillock crowned from the Chapora Fort. There are a number of buses which run from Mapusa and Calangute beach to Vagator. The closest interstate bus station is at Mapusa.
Adjoining Anjuna, Vagator is secluded, crescent shaped and located on the Caisua bay across the Chapora river basin in the shadow of Chapora Fort. During the holidays, it is a place for midnight celebrations.
