Samantha Anne da Cunha, best known as the photographer who revolutionizedphotography in Goa, discovered her calling while still a student at St Xavier’s College,Goa. She was amongst the few to enroll in the first batch of professional photographytraining at Prasad Pankar’s CMYK Academy of Photography, in 2007.Post her training at CMYK, Samantha continued her pursuit for perfection in the field with a Master’sdegree from the Shari Academy of Professional Photography under the guidance of thefamous Girish Mistry, in Mumbai. Her passion for the craft got her the much deservedaward of ‘Top Gun – Top Scorer’ of the year, in 2010.
From here, Samantha went on to work for a leading corporate magazine company andsoon launched her very own photography studio – the much celebrated StudioGrey, in2011. Though the studio started as a quintessential contemporary weddingphotography hub, StudioGrey now has a vast repertoire of specializations – maternity,newborns, landscape, architecture, commercial, product, food and corporate as well asindividual portfolios.
The pioneer of pre and post-natal photography in Goa, Samantha was the first tointroduce the avant-garde concept of ‘Yearly Packages’ in photographing infants andfollowing their delightful ‘firsts’. This single handedly opened a whole new range of photography concepts thereby widening the scope of portraiture photography in Goa.Through this unique package, she offers to capture the entire journey and major milestones of young parents and their newly-borns. She also collaborates with maternity hospitals, kids play centers, gynecologists and kiddies stores to bring a whole new perspective to this niche demand.

With bountiful talent up her sleeves, Samantha has also produced and directed a mental health awareness documentary video for Belgium based pharmaceutical company,Janssen Pharmaceutica. She has also pictorially documented the lineage and accomplishments of Marwaris and Rajasthanis for Swasti Mittal Chaudhary’s book – 50 Rajasthani’s featuring Jaswant Singh, Raghvendra Rathore, and has several noteworthy projects in the pipeline.
