“Profession without Passion gets out of fashion”….this is what Mayuri Krishna Signapurkar has believed from day one when she started her first venture which due to her various passions went on to become her ventures.

Mayuri is born and brought up in Margao and did her basic graduation in the Commerce stream and went on to study Event Management from a prestigious institute in Pune. Since college days Mayuri was always a part of a number of curricular activities like Dance Mehandi designing, Art and Craft and so on.

Having worked for the Government, at the ESG(Entertainment Society of Goa) Mayuri knew it was not her piece of cake. All she knew was 9 to 5 jobs were not meant for her, all she wanted to do was start off on her own. During this period Mayuri saw some paper quilling beads and got attracted to them. She shared them with her physiotherapist best friend Krupali and they both started making paper quilling earrings and other pieces of small jewellery. Earings lead to rakhis and then kundan lamp base and accessories and this further lead to jewellery with silk threads and glass beads.

Mayuri now started participating and showcasing her talent in pop up sales and small exhibitions.Once she knew that she had stood her ground, Mayuri then dumped her government job to take up something more interesting and serious.Things like Mandala dot Art on various surfaces , …her most popular and fast moving are the specially curated diaries.

Mayuri loves doing all things creative. Anything from scribbling on shoes, decoupaged items, home decor, like decoupaging pots, coasters, purses, bottles, tiles, diaries, jewellery boxes and a host of other things. Mayuri loves to do Mandala and decoupaging on TerraCotta pot, miniatures penstands, Christmas hangings and the likes. Having had an Event Management Masters Degree up her sleeve , Mayuri started her own Events Company AROMMA CREATIVE EVENTS under whose banner she conducts launches, birthdays weddings or sometimes just plain management requirements in case of entertainment programmes, accessories for wedding decors, cakes and so on.

Amongst the other events that Mayuri has had a role to play are some prestigious sports events like the Lusofonia games 2014 and the FIFA u-17 world cup.

The FIFA events gave a great boost to not only Mayuri’s confidence but also to the authorities that women entrepreneurs are no less competent in management activities. Mayuri has still maintained contact with the volunteers of FIFA who shower unadulterated love and affection upon her.

Cooking is yet another activity that Mayuri is passionate about. Various pickles like bimli pickle, mango pickle, lime pickle, carrot pickle , mirchi pickle is also what Mayuri does and is an activity which is yet another feather in her cap. Mayuri loves going on tours and seeing new places, she does all that and more. She has an fb page which named Mayu’s quilling accessories which has now changed name to PUTTUL’S CRAFT.

“Puttul” is Mayuri’s pet name which interestingly means “A Doll”. She loves working with children and Adults and conducts a number of workshops for them.
There are many more activities to come on Mayuris’ list soon so stay tuned, people…

  5. The first time I met Mayuri is when I joined her decouppage class. An art class I expected in a quiet room but we were at the entrance of Caculo mall..on a weekend..there was so much chaos..I too had another 2 functions after this to attend.. but her patience & cute smiling face allowed us to not just learn but enjoy the learning!! Her passion is visible in her art. From then on I met her several times..each time in a different role..sometimes as a compere..teacher..speaker..entrepreneur..& in each role she excelled. All the best to her & an advice..please keep flashing that dimpled smile… that is such a mood lifter
